Granting access to Users
This article aims to guide you on how to grant access to PowerRouter based on different types of users.
After successfully installing PowerRouter, specific users will require access using Permission Sets to view the PowerRouter application in Salesforce. By default, the System Administrator profile is granted access when you initially install PowerRouter for Admins.
Note: Not all users need access to the PowerRouter application. Determine the appropriate user types that require access based on their roles and responsibilities.
Who needs access?
PowerRouter categorizes users into three different types:
PowerRouter Admin User: These users have administrative access to PowerRouter. They can create/delete router teams and workflows, as well as modify PowerRouter settings to start or stop the application. Admin Users require the PowerRouter Admin Permission Set.
PowerRouter Manager: These users have restricted access to PowerRouter settings and can create/delete teams and workflows. However, they do not have the ability to start or stop the application. PowerRouter Managers need the PowerRouter Manager Permission Set.
PowerRouter User: These users are part of the router team and require access to the PowerRouter User interface to manage their availability. This permission set is only necessary if users need access to the Availability Screen. If users only need to be part of the router teams without accessing the interface, this permission set is not required.
Grant Access Using Permission Sets
To assign permission sets, follow these steps:
From Setup, navigate to Users >> Permission Sets.
Click on Power Router Manager.
Click Manage Assignments.
Click Add Assignments.
Select the users and click Assign.
Click “Done” to confirm the assignments.
Grant Access to App Visibility
If you want to grant access to PowerRouter for profiles other than the System Administrator, you need to provide visibility to the app by following these steps:
From Setup, navigate to Create >> Apps.
Under Apps, click Edit next to PowerRouter.
In the “Assign to Profiles” section, select the Visible checkbox for the profiles you want to grant access to, and click Save.
Now, PowerRouter is ready to use. Let’s get started with PowerRouter!
